Animal Abuse is
A Major Crime
A Major Crime
On a global scale, animal cruelty is hardly considered a crime due to the fact that so many countries worldwide fail to implement harsh punishments on individuals found guilty of any sort of animal abuse scenario. Such inhumane crimes on these helpless animals should not go unnoticed.
According to animal cruelty Laws, “The modern version of the law still borrows much of the original language, barring acts including the direct infliction of unnecessary pain (“tortures or cruelly beats or unjustifiably injures”), harmful neglect (“deprives any animal of necessary sustenance, food or drink”) and cruelly burdening (“overdrives, overloads”) draft animals (“Overdriving”)". This passage illustrates the importance of the required punishments for cold hearted animal abusers. Animal Abuse Laws in developed countries such as the United States of America are very strict when it comes to the punishment an offender would receive. A particular case of such cruelty in the U.S. was that of a farm work who was caught on CCTV maltreating pigs and sheeps. Once authorities got involved, the offender received ten months in prison and has been fined and fired. After all, animals are living beings as well; and just like us humans, they have feelings, thoughts and a whole variety of aspects similar to those of human beings and they deserve to be treated with respect. |
Oftentimes, many animals are abused on a daily basis and ninty percent of those crimes go unnoticed due to the fact that they happen to occur either during a time when there was no witness whatsoever and in a secluded area.
China is a perfect example of a world power country and yet animal cruelty is a major issue there. Many major industries there purchase fur that is collected from straigh streets dogs and then turned into hand bags and other materials. Knowing that this is a never ending issue, the chinese governement does not even make an effort to end the sufferings these poor animals go through. According to Lacey Levitt, "The deliberate maltreatment of (certain) animals is illegal in every state, and all 50 states plus the District of Columbia have provisions making certain forms of animal cruelty a felony. Research in the area has mainly focused on physical cruelty to animals; animal neglect and sexual abuse have received considerably less scholarly attention.". This passage is a perfect depiction of the strict laws on animal abuse offenses in the United States; enabling animals to live happy and enjoyable lives. |
